Your 4-Week Learning Path

Each week builds directly on the last. Complete the checklist at the end of each week before moving forward.

1

Hardware Layout & Project Basics

Week 1

Get physically comfortable with the Deluge. Learn every button, knob, and I/O port. Understand how songs, clips, synths, and kits relate to each other — then save your first project.

How This Sprint Works

Think of this as a personal tutor in website form. Each week is designed to fit into 3–4 hours of study time and follows the same structure.

📖

1. Read the Objectives

Every sub-topic has 1–2 measurable goals. Know what "done" looks like before you start.

▶️

2. Watch & Read the Resources

Curated videos and articles, each with estimated time. Always have your Deluge on and follow along.

🎛️

3. Practice the Mini-Challenge

Each week ends with a hands-on challenge. Do it on your Deluge — not just in your head.

4. Tick Your Checklist

Your progress is saved in your browser automatically. Come back anytime and pick up where you left off.

What You'll Be Able to Do

By the end of Week 4 you will be able to:

  • Identify every main control on the Deluge without looking at a guide
  • Navigate freely between Song, Synth, Kit, and Clip views
  • Program a drum pattern and bassline from scratch using step sequencing
  • Build and tweak a custom synth patch (oscillator, filter, envelope)
  • Load samples into a kit and shape them with start/end point edits
  • Record notes live into a clip and quantize the result
  • Arrange three sections (intro, main, ending) in Arranger View
  • Mute, solo, and launch clips during a live performance
  • Complete a 2-minute live demo without step-by-step notes
💡
No prior experience needed. This sprint assumes you have a Deluge in your hands but are brand new to using it. Paid resources are noted but free alternatives are always included.
